Maximize Space Pots & Pans

How to Maximize Space!

Did you know that pull-out shelving can actually increase your storage space — not just your access?

With traditional stationary shelves, you need to leave “air space” above items so you can reach over and retrieve what’s in the back. That means wasted vertical space — just so you can see and reach things.

But when you install pull-out shelves, you eliminate the need for that extra space. You simply glide the shelf out and grab what you need — no digging, no overreaching, and no wasted room.

Here’s How You Gain More Storage:

Let’s say you’re storing pots and pans. In most base cabinets, the stationary shelf is intentionally only half the depth of the cabinet — to allow visibility and access to what’s below. So, in theory, you’re using the base of the cabinet for storage, with a shallow half shelf above it.

When we design and install your pull-outs, we make them full-depth, allowing you to use the entire interior of your cabinet at every level. Right there, you’ve gained a half shelf of additional storage.

Now, imagine installing three pull-out shelves in that same cabinet — and when you do the math, you’re close to doubling your usable space. Here’s how your storage adds up:

  • The base of the cabinet, with a pullout
  • The former half shelf, now a new full-depth pull-out
  • A brand-new third pullout above that

Voilà! Three full-depth pull-outs — all easily accessible and perfectly organized.

Photo Notes: You’ll notice a divider in the bottom pull-out that allows for vertical lid storage. This divider is fully adjustable and can be moved in small increments as your storage needs change — or popped out entirely if no longer needed.

The bottom pull-out holds nesting pots that are 8.5″ tall, about the size of a stock pot, showcasing how much vertical storage you really do have.

Go ahead — take a peek inside your cabinets and compare… how much air space are you losing?

There are no words to describe how grateful I felt at our ShelfGenie Conference in Dallas... First, I had the privilege of creating and presenting a Designer Mastermind Training & Coaching Series, and then I was honored to receive these 2025 accolades:
* Designer of the Year
* Highest Revenue per Appointment
* Broke ShelfGenie’s 26-year company record for the largest sale in company history

I’m beyond humbled.🙏 None of this would have been possible without my wonderful clients who trusted me to transform their kitchens and living spaces; the ShelfGenie and Neighborly corporate team who has believed in me since 2013, the franchise owners across the U.S. and Canada who have supported, encouraged, and nominated me♥️; and our talented designers and installers who have cheered me on every step of the way.🙏

I am grateful for every single one of you. Thank you!!!♥️ #ShelfGenie
